BIOGRAPHY: Grunge is an apathetic and somewhat misanthropic character who tends to base his decisions on rational thought rather than intuition. Grunge doesn't care for large crowds and flashy shows or even his own financial situation. Although he's easy to befriend, he has a lot of unsolved issues and may snap at people for no apparent reason. After spending years playing small gigs, he finally received mainstream recognition. His fame was short lived when he felt that his "message" wasn't being heard. Grunge stepped up and replaced Glam when The Five Genres reunited and has been with the band ever since.

ARTIST NOTES: Grunge's character has a very serious and uptight personality making him a perfect foil to someone like Glam. Like Glam, Grunge represents two genres (the other being post-grunge). Whenever I write for him, I try to put some of my own angst into his character. The irony behind Grunge is that for someone who's always pissed off, he really has it good. He has a family that loves and supports him, and he really does love them back, even though he hates showing any affection.

DESIGN: Grunge was easy to come up with because grunge fashion is pretty straightforward. His design was inspired by Mark Arm, Kurt Cobain and Layne Stayley. He takes very little pride in his personal appearance and tends to wear the same clothes a lot.
